How Often Should I Wash My Hair?

One of the most common pieces of shampoo advice you'll hear is that you shouldn't wash your hair every day. Depending on who you ask, the magic number is every second day. Or every third day. Some people (who you smell coming before you see them) even suggest once a week. The reasoning is always the same. Shampoo strips your hair of its natural oils, so washing too often dries it out and damages it. It's advice that's been repeated so often that most people accept it as fact.

Traditional shampoos were designed to remove everything – dirt, styling products and excess oil, but they also stripped away much of the moisture your scalp naturally produces to protect your hair. That "squeaky clean" feeling people used to think was a good thing was actually a sign that your hair had no moisture left.

Because our shampoos are designed to combat hair loss, they also contain ingredients that block DHT, promote growth and increase density. The more often you can get these ingredients on your hair and scalp, the more chances they have of working. So we designed our shampoos to be able to be used daily.

In addition to the anti-hair loss ingredients, our shampoos contain ingredients like Rosemary, Clary Sage, Ginkgo Biloba and Vitamin E to help support a healthier scalp and healthier-looking hair. Combined with a gentle cleansing system that won't aggressively strip away your scalp's natural moisture, it leaves your hair feeling clean, soft and healthy after every wash.

So how often should you wash your hair?

The answer depends less on how often you wash it and more on what you're washing it with. If you're using a harsh shampoo that strips away your scalp's natural moisture, washing every few days is probably sensible advice. But if you're using a shampoo that's designed to cleanse gently while delivering ingredients that support healthier hair and a healthier scalp, there's no reason to avoid using it every day.
